The Cruzin' Corvette Club is about to start the new season. That is, as soon as we can dig our cars out of the garage. What a winter! Our first meeting of the season is posted on this web site. (See "Meetings" link on home page)

As we start the 2008 driving season, we need to remember why we belong to a club in the first place. Of course, we have meetings, swap car tales, eat a little, visit a lot, but the main reason Cruzin' Corvettes is a club is to support the local community by raising money through various events, which is given to the combined food bank in the outlying area such as Tekoa, Fairfield, Latah and others. These communities are connected to the 2nd Harvest food bank ion Spokane.

The monies that we donate to them is leveraged when they apply for food from 2nd Harvest. Each dollar that we give them will buy ten dollars worth of food. Last year, from our car show in Latah, Cruzin' Corvettes was able to donate enough money to supply nine months worth of food for the needy. This is how we as a club can impact the local communities.

We are planning our next car show as we speak. We encourage any Corvette owner who supports our objectives to attend our meetings and join us.

In closing, I have only one driving tip:

Keep the rubber down and the plastic up.

Your President, Richard Gauntlett
